General:
Perennial aquatic herb without roots; stems very slender, floating or submerged and creeping along the bottom, leafy, up to 1 m long.
Leaves:
Alternate, numerous, 0.3-1 cm long, divided into 3 parts at the bases, hyaline bristles arising from these antler-like bases, the leaves again divided 1-3 times into 5 or more thread-like ultimate segments, narrowed towards the tips; bladders, few, borne on the leaves, 1-2 mm wide; winter buds 3-5 mm long, with hyaline bristles.
Flowers:
Inflorescence of 2-4 flowers in lax racemes at the end of stalks 6-20 cm long; corollas pale yellow, 10-15 mm long, the tubes short, lower lips 8-12 mm long, the spurs at an angle to, and less than 1/2 the length of the lower lips.
Fruits:
Capsules, stalks nearly erect.
Notes:
Utricularia ochroleuca may be a hybrid between Utricularia intermedia and U. minor.

Habitat / Range

Oligotrophic and dystrophic (low nutrient) lakes in the montane zone; rare in SW BC and E BC ; S to WA and OR, disjunct to ON.
